How to plant a fir tree correctly so that the tree takes root quickly

Properly positioned trees create shade and purify the air we breathe, retain rainwater, protect against noise and improve human health. Evergreen trees are especially useful, which, in addition to useful qualities, bring a New Year mood in winter. Therefore, today we are learning to plant a spruce.

Time and place

Choosing the right time and place to plant a tree determines its future. Carrying out this process at the right time of the year is a key factor in the life of a coniferous plant. The recommended time for planting spruce seedlings is spring, before the start of the growing season.

Spruce can be planted in a sunny area or in partial shade with a low groundwater level. Ate does not tolerate stagnant moisture well, so you need to take care of high-quality drainage in advance.

Pit

First, prepare a hole that is two to three times wider than an earthen tree ball. Place 15 cm of drainage at the bottom of the pit, consisting of a mixture of rubble and sand.

The hole must be filled with a soil mixture, which is done as follows: mix the earth from the hole with sand, humus and peat in equal proportions, add a bucket of deciduous and sod soil, 150 grams of nitroammophoska and pour 5 liters of water into the hole.

Handle the root ball with care to keep it intact while moving. Do not leave the roots of the tree open for too long, as this can dry them out.

Once the tree is inside the hole, rotate it so that the best side of the tree is facing in the desired direction.

Ground coincidence

It is important to place the seedling in such a way that the surface of the ground at the planting site coincides with the surface of the earthen ball of the tree. The spruce trunk must be aligned strictly vertically and covered with prepared potting soil. Do not cover the area where the stem meets the root and do not leave the roots exposed.

Make sure the seedling is upright. This will affect how the tree grows in the years to come. Use stakes to support your plant, if necessary.

Mulching

Mulching around the tree will protect it from weeds and help retain moisture. Use peat, deciduous tree bark or fallen leaves to enrich the soil with nutrients. A layer of mulch of 5-6 cm is enough.

If there are broken, dead, or diseased branches on the coniferous tree, carefully remove them with a knife or garden shears. If everything is in order with it, then there is no need to cut it before the end of the first growing season.

Spraying

Once the conifer is planted, water it regularly. This will help the roots gain a foothold in the surrounding soil. Ate loves sprinkling with warm water and spraying - in this way, the greens are cleaned of dust and moistened.

When planting a spruce on a plot, be sure to consider things like power lines, the location of the house and driveway, and the presence of other plants. After a while, you can enjoy the shade and beauty of the young spruce.
