The Department of Nature Management of Moscow reported which animals are most often thrown out onto the street by residents of the capital.
Most often, according to the head of the department, iguanas, exotic snakes and parrots end up on the streets of Moscow. Despite the rather sad statistics, most pets still run away from their owners' apartments and houses on their own. So, often there are calls about the discovery of an iguana near the entrance of the house or about a snake crawling through the parking lot. Quite often, there is a negligent attitude of the owners towards exotic pets. Some even buy animals just because they are the symbol of the year.
The head of the department, Anton Kulbachevsky, also said that there are cases when pets sneak into neighbors' apartments. A similar thing happened recently, when the owner forgot to close the terrarium with a snake in her apartment. And after a few hours a call came from her neighbor.
