Planting Volzhanka

Where does Volzhanka growBefore planting aruncus, it should be borne in mind that this plant is perennial, in connection with which nearby plants should be taken into account, the soil should be selected properly. Volzhanka can grow for about 20 years... In cases where planting is carried out in a cultivated kidney, it is important to apply any fertilizing agents exclusively directly to the planting pit. Humus in the amount of 2-3 kg, as well as nitrophoska, are excellent for this purpose. In the latter case, only one tablespoon is required.

If there is a choice when planting aruncus, it is advisable to give preference to loose, well-moistened soil. When a shrub is planted in open ground under the influence of direct sunlight, it should be borne in mind that, in this case, Volzhanka can get leaf burns.

As with planting any tall plant, when planting a Volzhanka, it is important to consider that the plant will inevitably grow. The hole for planting aruncus must be appropriate, designed for division. It is necessary to proceed from a distance of one meter. It is this that is required additionally in most cases. The photo clearly shows that the Volzhanka bush does not grow alone, the plant can grow quickly and efficiently.

Landing takes place in several stages:

  • It is necessary to dig holes, moisten each of them well with water.
  • The roots of the plant are evenly spread over the surface of the hole, after which each hole is covered with fertile soil.
  • The earth in the buried holes is compacted, after which it is well moistened again.

Aruncus dioecious experts advise planting one plant at a time, while many species will take root best with a group type of planting.

Plant care

Volzhanka dioeciousVolzhanka is easy to care for. There are many advantages of planting this particular plant, for example, the fact that it is resistant to numerous pests, rarely gets sick.

As in most cases, Volzhanka should be looked after regularly. Basic rules include constant watering of the plant, removing weeds, and loosening soil. Some believe that sprinkling with peat and fertilization with wood chips are good for the growth of Volzhanka. Thanks to such manipulations, the soil remains moist longer and receives additional nutrients.

After the plant has bloomed, it is advisable to cut the inflorescences. In such a simple way, a volzhanka will look attractive until late autumn. If you do not take care and leave the inflorescences, the leaves and shoots of Volzhanka are likely to become significantly smaller.

After autumn the leaves of the plant are important to cut... Hemp up to 10 cm in size should remain on the bush. It is very convenient that Volzhanka should not be covered in winter. The exception is small bushes, which were planted in the autumn and, thus, did not have time to get strong enough. The best option in this case would be an additional layer of peat.

If the decorative appearance of the plant is important to the owners, then it should be borne in mind that poor nutrition and dry land negatively affect the appearance of the shrub. It is important to give the plant the required amount of water, which is usually 4 buckets for an adult Volzhanka. The timely application of organic fertilizers is also important.

In addition, aruncus need to periodically rejuvenate... This can be done by separating part of the rhizome and replanting it to a new place. Otherwise, Volzhanka inflorescences over time are likely to significantly grind, become not so extensive.

Volzhanka is great for sheltering unsightly corners of the garden, does not require much maintenance and grows beautifully for decades.
