Winegrowers know that there are many varieties of this precious vine - about ten thousand. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. But there are those among them that even those who have never seen a vine, but love its sun-filled fruits, know about. One of these varieties is Cardinal.

Among the various grape varieties, the so-called raisin varieties stand out. Since raisins are pitted, they are ideal for making raisins. One of these varieties is Kishmish Century, new for Russian winegrowers, with beautiful large berries with a nutmeg aroma.

All grape varieties are conventionally divided into table and technical. The berries of the first of them are mainly used fresh, the second are used for various processing, including in winemaking. This is due to the chemical composition of the fruit: the ratio of sugar and acid content, additional aromatic components, and, in general, the amount of juice in the berries. The best wine varieties are included in the technical list.

Grapes are considered difficult to grow crops. It requires a garter, pruning, feeding, shelter for the winter (in central Russia and northern regions). In all growing regions, this plant can be affected by many diseases, therefore, in early spring, before the buds awaken, they carry out mandatory preventive treatments.

Rooting lignified cuttings is the main method of grape propagation, available even to a novice gardener. The principles of growing seedlings from cuttings differ slightly depending on the region and have many options, but the success of obtaining high-quality seedlings, subject to simple rules, is guaranteed. You just need to get some cuttings of the variety you like and be patient.
